Rock A Bye Baby

Rock a bye baby there’s no sense in weeping
If Syria’s bombed again while you’re sleeping
Bidet will babble, and pushing right after
Kamala Harris with speeches and laughter

Into the wrecks that yesterday were countries
Past destroyed villages, with corpses for sentries
They shall advance and CNN will follow
Singing their praises puffed up and hollow

Past Afghan hills, promises all forgotten
Through Mosul ruins where bodies lie rotten
Clapping while children in Yemen lie in shallow
Graves and zionists turn West Bank groves fallow

Bidet and Harris with cackles like witches
Will rip open hearts and close mouths with stitches
Talk of freedom, while Wall Street makes gallows
And turns every eve to nightmare All Hallows

Rock a bye baby there’s no sense in weeping
If  Iraq’s bombed again while you’re sleeping
Bidet will babble, and pushing right after
Kamala Harris with speeches and laughter.

The Living Undead

It was the End of Days.
Civilisation had collapsed. Law and order were a distant memory. Chaos ruled the streets.
It was the time so many had so long waited so eagerly for.
The Zombocalypse had come at last.
********************************************
Fanboy Number One leaned back in his chair and stared, gloating, up at the ceiling. In his imagination, through it, his gaze reached the hordes of Dead Fucks shambling along the streets. Sensually, like a lover, he stroked the sleek black M 16 rifle in his hands. The magazine was full of metal jacketed rounds, all ready to blast holes through the heads of any of Those Things that Fanboy Number One aimed at.
Behind Fanboy Number One, leaned against the basement wall, piled on the table and chairs, and thrown on the bed, was the rest of his beloved arsenal; an M 1, an M 2, one M 3, an M 4, two M 6s, an M 7, one M 8, part of an M 10 (the stock was missing), an M 11, an M 14, an M 15, another M 16, an M 17, no less than three M 19s, an M 20, a couple of M 57s, one M 85, and an M 99. There was also an Armalite, a Legaheavy, a Winchester, a Losebacker, a Colt Special, a Horse General, a Desert Eagle, a Forest Pigeon, a Glock, a Gkey, a pump shotgun, and an aqueduct shotgun. Of course there was ammunition for all of them: piles of shotgun shells in 12 gauge, 21 gauge, 14 gauge and 23 gauge; bullets in 0.22, 0.25, 0.52, 0.32, 0.23, 0.44, 0.45, 0.53, 5.56mm, 6.55mm, 7.62 mm, 6.27 mm, 9 mm, 12.7mm, and 7.12 mm sizes, all thrown together in confusion.  Also there were cans of gun oil, slings, leather holsters, and posters on the wall of Arnold Schwarzenegger using all of those weapons, sometimes all of them at once. There was also a katana, a compound bow, another compound bow, yet another compound bow, an arrow, and, last but not the least, a Stinger surface to air missile loaded in a disposable portable launcher. Fanboy Number One intended to use this on any interfering helicopter that might threaten him with rescue.
Fanboy Number One did not want rescue. Fanboy Number One was very happy right where he was.
How long had Fanboy Number One waited for this day? How many years had he spent watching zombie movies, worshipping the Sainted George Romero, knowing him for the Holy Prophet that he was, instead of merely the maker of trash movies that everyone else took him for? How many hundreds of hours had he crouched over his keyboard, gnawing at sandwiches while reading zombie fiction on sites such as the Home Page Of The Dead and posting messages on zombie survival fora? He’d known, known, damn it, that this day would come! How he had planned for this, how he’d pined, hating the stupid fools who said he was an immature basement dwelling troglodyte with neither social skills nor any aptitude to make a living! How many times he had promised himself that when the day came, he would show them.
The day, the glorious day, had finally arrived, and Fanboy Number One was ready.
No, he did not want rescue, not at all.
Turning back to his computer, Fanboy Number One brushed a few of the larger crumbs off the keyboard and turned on the machine. He grimaced slightly when he saw that the internet was still up. He had mixed feelings about this. If the net was up, he could gloat over all the losers who had mocked him and, obviously, had not prepared for this day. He, who had absorbed the teachings of Saint Romero, was chosen and would survive. They, who had mocked, would all die, and they deserved to. But not before they had to endure his gloating.
Still, there was something he knew: absolutely everyone but he couldn’t be allowed to die. It was compulsory that at least a few needed to survive. Yes, there had to be a fairly stupid moron who was to act as a representative of all the imbeciles who had not Heard Romero’s Call, and who had better be abjectly grateful to Fanboy Number One for saving his pathetic life. There had to be a Fanboy Number Seventy or thereabouts – nowhere even close to Fanboy Number One, no threat to him at all, but useful to look out for any shambling Pus Buckets who managed to evade Fanboy Number One’s eagle eyes and eternal vigilance. And, of course, there had to be a Beautiful Woman. This was the most important of all. She would be beautiful, as beautiful as all those women on the internet who posed without any clothes on, and, unlike all the women who in real life avoided Fanboy Number One as though he’d got Coronavirus, she would be head over heels in love with him.
Of course she would be head over heels in love with him. Fanboy Number One even knew exactly how it would happen. He would be out in the street; the broad avenues which he normally shunned, because of the crowds of people who were, for all their manifest inferiority, taller, cleaner, better looking, better dressed, and ignored him totally. Now, though, he would be the king of all he surveyed, with one of his M 16s in his arms, his sceptre of reign as well as his executioner’s sword. He’d also have his Winchester, or maybe his Losebacker, slung over his shoulder, and his Desert Special at his hip. The katana would be slung from his other hip, his pockets loaded with ammunition. He would fear nobody, not a Rotting Gut Bucket zombie nor any living human, because he would be the king.
And he would hear them, the zombie hordes, slobbering and moaning as they searched for food. He would follow the groans and moans, because it would be fun to destroy them, one-line quips already forming in his head and trembling on his lips, eager to be uttered. Things like, “You thought you were dead, now you’re deader than dead.” Or, “Zombies? We don’t need no stinkin’ zombies. And you stink.” Or something else, he knew he would think of something absolutely fitting when the moment came. Anyway, he would find them, crowded around the building where she was trapped, slapping and clawing at the doors. And he would see her, peering down from an upper window, her terror not doing anything to mask her fantastic beauty, her immaculately made-up face framed by her perfectly coiffed hair. Maybe she would be naked...no, Fanboy Number One amended regretfully, that wasn’t likely when she was running from zombies. She’d probably be in torn jeans, a shabby jacket, and scuffed boots. No, she’d get naked later, when he’d got her to safety. He could wait that long.
“Hold on,” he would shout up at her, where she waited at the window, her eyes suddenly filled with wild hope. “Hold on, I’ll save you.” And he would raise his M 16 and squeeze off shots, one by one, every one through a Dead Fuck’s decomposing braincase, the Pus Buckets falling like ninepins before his bullets. At first the survivors would turn, moaning and gibbering with hunger and hatred, but before his bullets they would learn fear. Even their rotted, flyblown ambulating carcasses would know fear of him, and they would slink off at last, just as he shot his way to the door, and they would leave him alone.
“Oh god,” she would say, and fling herself sobbing into his arms, when he’d shot the lock off the door and made his way inside. “Oh god, I thought I was done for this time.” And she’d kiss his mouth. Fanboy Number One, who’d never kissed or been kissed by anything or anyone, licked his lips, anticipating how it would feel.
“We’ve got to get away,” he’d say. “I got rid of Those Things, but they’ll be back.” And they would hear the moaning and shuffling as the zombie hordes, swollen with reinforcements, returned. “Here,” he’d say, handing her the katana, because women with swords were sexy. “Here, take this.” And she would take the sword and flourish it, the sun glinting along the edge, and her face would fill with grim determination.
“Now let them come,” she would say, through gritted – yet impeccably clean, without a trace of plaque or caries – teeth. “Let them come, and we’ll show them.” And as the zombies came shuffling forward, she would swing the sword, and rotting heads would go tumbling off undead shoulders just as fast as Fanboy Number One’s bullets would smash other rotting heads like overripe pumpkins. Oh, those zombies would pay for their presumption. How they would pay!
Then when they got back to his basement, she would push him down on the bed, take off all her clothes, take off all his clothes, put on a pair of stiletto heels, and then make love to him as expertly as all the women on the porn videos Fanboy Number One spent hours every day watching, every minute that he wasn’t on the zombie sites, that is. Afterwards, she would relax in his arms and tell him her sad story.
“When those Dead Things rose,” she would say, “I found shelter with a group of Survivors, as they called themselves. They had made an armed camp in a mall, under a man called the Demon Kid. And he soon made all of us prisoners.” She would tell him all about the tortures the Demon Kid would have inflicted on her, but he didn’t bother to imagine that part. It didn’t matter. “At last I managed to escape, but I’d hardly got away when I was found and chased by those Dead Fucks. I ran for shelter into the building where you saved me Just In Time. And I’m afraid that the Demon Kid will be looking for me, and find me again.”
“Not unless I find him first,” Fanboy Number One would grind out, reaching for a shotgun or two and springing to his feet. “Get the sword and come on.”
“You’re so heroic,” the Beautiful Woman would say. “Nothing scares you at all.” And she’d make love to him all over again.
Afterwards, they would go to the mall, which the Demon Kid would have turned into a fortress with barbed wire festooned with the heads of zombies. But the Beautiful Woman would know a secret back way in, by which she had escaped, and they would march right into the Demon Kid’s den. Fanboy Number One would look at the cowering Demon Kid, and would lift his lip in a sneer. “Consider yourself the Demonetised Kid,” he would say, and blow the Demon Kid’s head off with one shotgun blast.
Then all the Demon Kid’s group would swear loyalty to Fanboy Number One, but he’d dismiss them all, except for Fanboy Number Seventy, who would be useful, and Fairly Stupid Moron, so he could be snivellingly grateful every day to Fanboy Number One. And if either of them even looked at Beautiful Woman, he’d shoot their heads off, too.
Thinking about how this would all be, Fanboy Number One grinned savagely to himself and thumped away on his keyboard. “I’ll go out to bag me some Zombie Dead Pus Buckets,” he typed out. “And then I’ll come back and teach all you losers just how it should be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!”
Then, picking up his M 16, he slung his Losebacker over one shoulder and slapped on his Forest Pigeon on one hip. He strapped the katana on his other hip, took one step, tripped over it, and fell flat on his face. His M 16 went off and a bullet crashed through his computer.
“To hell with those losers anyway,” he said, wiping the blood from his nose. “They’ll be dead soon, and then I’ll shoot them all in the face.”
Then he stomped out of his basement and up into the street, where a gang of cannibals immediately set on him, knocked him over the head with a bludgeon, barbecued and ate him over a campfire, and licked their fingers clean afterwards with delight.
There never were any zombies, of course.

Oh Sod Off Amerikastani

Lyrics:

Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
In your mind you're a hero
In the world you're a fanny.

Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
In your mind you're a hero
In the world you're a fanny
Uncool and staring at doom
Though you think you're so canny.
Uncool and staring at doom
Though you think you're so canny.

Flatfoot fool and only garish
Biggest bully in the entire parish
War drum tuba and scuba and your myths are all you cherish.
Anyhow you steal the plunder
Claiming your victims are terrorist jihadis
You can't hide blood shed in the bedroom
Like you couldn't in the Vietnam paddies.

You know you're a shady briber
And the source of all the baddies
In the hole you'll crouch shaking
From the rage of lasses laddies.

Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
In your mind you're a hero
In the world you're a fanny.
Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
In your mind you're a hero
In the world you're a fanny.

You thought you'd beat the Iraqi
The Afghan who crushed the British khaki
You thought you'd beat the Iraqi
The Afghan who crushed the British khaki
But things didn't go, didn't go your way
And left you broken, lost and whiny
And left you broken, lost and whiny.
The way was supposed to be easy clear
You'd make the world tremble in shock and fear
And the countries would go down tumbling
While you sat, sat drinking beer.

Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
Hey nanny, hey nanny nanny
Hey nanny, hey nanny nanny.
Hey nanny, hey nanny nanny
Hey nanny, hey nanny nanny.

Ultra-dumb and bloody bungler
Hero? Hah! Just a robbing killer
In your hole you'll stumble cowering
When the world rises up in anger.

Yes, you're a cowardly cuckoo
Soon in the mincer you'll be too
Whipped and humbled by the people
You thought would be boiling in a bloody stew.
Once far but creeping ever near
Doomsday whispers in your trembling ear
Scream and fight or hide and stay mum
In just a heartbeat it'll be here.
Oh sod off you zionist too
With your white flag and your star blue
For too long you've had it your way
Now it's time to get lost and go screw.

Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
In your mind you're a hero
In the world you're a fanny.
Oh sod off Amerika-stani
In the hole you're so hammy
In your mind you're a hero
In the world you're a fanny.

Slouching Towards Armageddon

Turning and turning in the cerebral gyre
The brainworm now eats away the murderer
Plans fall apart, Wall Street starts losing hold
Bankers find bubbles bursting all over the world,
The stock market profits are at stake, and everywhere
The pretence of legality crumbles away;
The Exceptional Empire falters, while Europe's flatulent West
Are filled with a fearful schizophreny.

Surely some rescue is at hand;
Surely some Righteous War is being planned.
Some Righteous War! Hardly does Wall Street babble out its demand
When a masked face out of Wahhabi land
Troubles the oil-owning world: amid a waste of desert sand;
A raised gun,a black flag and the chopped head of a man,
Under a humanitarian intervention drone flying past the sun,
Are charging towards secular governments, while in the West
Screech minions of the media demanding war.

The cruise missiles drop again, and now you know
That the Warstate nestles deep
And Peace is hostage to a proxy battle:
And what rough beast, its eight years come round at last,
Slouches towards Warshington to be sworn?

Drone So Mean

Boom, boom, boom.

There was once a certain drone not so long ago
It followed me all over everywhere I'd go
And people looked around trembling and full o'fear
For they knew drones murder everybody far and also near.

It would fly through night and the morrow
Carrying cameras bombs and Hellfire
And it was controlled by PlayStation warriors
Given the best game their hearts could desire.

Hey hey drone so mean
Nobel Peace Prize winner pristine
Will you use a rocket or a bomb?
Hey hey drone so mean
Obama's own murder machine
How will you put me in my tomb?

It owned the sky and played at its killer war
And each time it killed it raised the war crimes bar
National airspaces were to it a breeze
And legalities it blew away in a dusty sneeze.

To liberals it was no evil death dealer
Their eyes tight shut to what it'd done
They condemned as a traitor and also as a squealer
Those who bared its crimes in the light of the sun.

Hey hey drone so mean
Nobel Peace Prize winner pristine
There was a killing spree it was on
Hey hey drone so mean
Obama's own murder machine
Dad and daughter, mum and son.

And then its crimes against humanity began to be known to more and more people. The demands to stop this mass murder became louder and louder.

"It can't be allowed to stop, they're enemies
And anyway they're raghead filth, like some vile disease
And if we kill them there, in their homes and farms
Our coddled soldier boys keep their legs and arms.

"Endless murder we'll keep rebranding
As an upscale video shooter game
And a kill list decided every Tuesday
Is our path to money and fame."

Hey hey drone so mean
Nobel Peace Prize winner pristine
When will you kill me, tell me do
Hey hey drone so mean
Obama's own murder machine
How much money am I worth to you?

Oh, those Americans.

After Sunshine

It was a summer evening
Professor Caspar’s research done
And from his laboratory window
He looked at the setting sun.
And by him sat his Wilhelmine
Assistant and also concubine.

She saw her lover’s wrinkling
Brow contract as he frowned
And sighed for instead of making love
All night he’d run a thought to ground.
She spoke to ask what idea he’d found
In case he was eager to expound.

Professor Caspar looked down at the girl
And up at the roseate western sky
Then the learned man shook his head
“It’s my wish with wings to fly;
To leave behind the chains of gravity
And sail through the boundless starry sea.

“I look at that swollen sun
As each evening it goes to bed;
And a thought goes round and round
Inside my elegant erudite head.
‘Twould be a great idea,” said he
“To visit that orb, it seems to me.”

“Tell me how you plan to do it,”
Lovely Wilhelmine she cries
As she looks up at her genius lover
With adoring cowlike eyes.
“Tell me how we’d go to the sun
And just what we’re looking for.”

“It is their cowardice,” the Professor cried
“That puts the men of science to rout
For when they think of voyaging there
The heat knocks them all right out.
For iron would run like water,” said he
“By the shores of a solar sea.

“My brain’s too keen for these scientist-men
Round and round theirs go in vain
I got the solution in a moment’s thought
While they sat and argued again.
And while they cower in stupid fright
We’ll go to the sun at night.”

With blood and metal they made a craft
As high as it was wide
And furnished it with food and air
To last them all through the ride.
Caspar took cushions for his captain’s chair
His lover a comb, to mind her hair.

Great was the sight when they rose up
On a column of smoke and fire
And half the bigwigs at the universities
Took to their beds with envious ire.
“They’ll fail though,” the others said
“The sun will toast them like a slice of bread.”

“Now we must find,” Caspar said
“A comet near the sun
On its other side, in its shadow
We’ll make our historic run.
For you know, the sunlight bright
Will make a comet’s shadow, and that’s called night.”

So they found a comet large
Caspar named it after his lady fair
For, he said, its tail was as pretty
As his lover’s well-combed hair.
She, the maiden, smiled and sighed
And hoped they’d get back home unfried.

Then they spun round the swollen sun
And looked into its lambent flame
But the comet’s shadow kept safe and cool
The intrepid professor and his valiant dame.
“I see faces,” the Professor cried
His eyes staring wonder-wide.

Wilhelmine took the telescope
From his unresisting hands
And the lady looked her fill
At the sun’s unknown lands.
She saw flame-men, and women too
As real and live as I or you.

“One of them,” she gasped aloud
In the craft’s cushioned space –
“Looks just like me, and she’s staring back
Right into my own little face.”
“Just like you?” the Professor griped
And then a moment his brow he wiped.

“But they’re shameless,” Wilhelmine said
And frowned and shook her well-combed head;
“They wear no clothes, and do out about
What decent people do in bed.
And of all of them, that woman there
Is most wanton, as well as bare.”

The woman in the sun then smiled
And a kissy-face she made
As though she knew her beauty’s flame
Put the human woman right to shade.
“I could have ten thousand men like that
But they’d fry like bacon fat.”

Caspar sighed and turned from the beauty there
Looked at the lady by his side
And something in her face made him
Ask her right then to be his bride.
For ‘twas better to make her wife
Than feel the edge of her kitchen knife.

“Of course I will,” the maiden said
With a tight-lipped little smile
As though she’d been waiting for this moment
For months and years, all this while.
“Of course I will, but you better turn
Us back homeward, lest we burn.”

The comet sped on past the sun
And in the course of passing time
They came back to near the earth
And celebrated with a gin and lime.
Then they kissed once, and came on down
Landed back in their little town.

Great fame then the Professor won
And of course the Lady Wilhelmine
But the scientists wondered why she kept
A blade with her shining keen,
And why, though his fame was bright
She only let Caspar out at night.

The Humvee

Once inside the White House dreary, Drone Man pondered, worried, weary
Upon how his ISIS proxies were falling by the score –
Watching frontlines creeping, nearly weeping
Suddenly there came a beeping
As an SUV gently beeping, beeping at the Oval door.
“ ‘Tis some SUV,” Drone Man said, “beeping at my Office door
Only that and nothing more.”

Oh, Drone Man well remembers, how the glowing embers
Of burning Libyan cities into the sky did soar;
Eagerly he’d watched the TV – while he’d scanned the CV –
Of the puppet he’d meant to install when Tripoli was washed in gore
For the puppet who’d give him the oil of Libya like tribute at the door
A pliant puppet slave forevermore.

But more bombing, fighting, blasting, the puppets now beyond trusting
Grilled him, filled him with anger seldom felt before;
So that then he’d sat furious, but still not uncurious
If the same formula would work if tried over once more.
“I’ll use it in Syria, try it over once more
And capture the country from the desert to the shore.”

Presently he’d had inspiration, and filled up with new passion
“I’ll get me some cannibals,” he’d said, “and headhunters galore.
“I’ll fund them and I’ll train them, and on Syria I’ll rain them
And they’ll spread jihad poison as by spore.
They’ll overthrow Assad – ” and he’d raised his voice in a roar
“I’ll own his country, forevermore.”

Deep into jihad forums peering, filled with hatred seething, searing
Soon he’d found his cannibal headhunters, people he could love, adore
He gave them machine guns, he gave them cream buns
He filled their pockets with drugs and dollars, and waved them through his door.
“We’re Exceptional, Indispensable, Exalted, and therefore
History and facts are things to ignore.”

And then in Warshington sitting, his teeth all furiously gritting
He’d read of his jihad failing in the desert, failing by the ocean shore,
“Surely there’s something I can do, perhaps stage a gas attack or two
And bomb Syria to scrap, like in Libya I’d done before
Yes, like in Libya I’d done to Gaddafi before,
Until the wind finds ruins, and nothing more.”

Open wide he’d thrown his mouth, and issued orders, north and south
Of a campaign to be launched with bombers, missiles, shells and more
“First I’m going to destroy Syria, and then I’ll pause to sing an aria
Of my plans for Iran, Russia before the blood’s dry on the floor
Of how I’ll destroy China, Russia, before the blood’s dry on the floor
I’ll own this planet, to the core.”

But to his anger and surprise, nobody this time swallowed the lies
It seemed his war he wouldn’t have, his orders they’d all ignore
As he’d sat in his Office raving, for peace they had a sudden craving
It seemed, or at least his lies were too extempore.
“I’ll think a moment, other possibilities I’ll explore
And over the planet my drones will soar.”

Then suddenly he’d thought of ISIS, born of that other crisis
His friends and mentors Bush and Clinton had wreaked in Iraq before.
“That is the very thing, that will soon make me a king
I’ll throw them at Assad until he can take no more.
And the wind shall howl in the ruins of the desert, and the shore
There will be ruins, and nothing more.”

Through the wide-opened Turkish gate, a flood in swift-rising spate
ISIS struck like a tornado at the squabbling cannibals that had gone before
Oh it shattered and it killed, as the headhunters’ own heads spilled
Like skittles off their shoulders and rolled on the desert floor.
Until ISIS’ black flag flapped in the air by the score
As far as the eye could reach, and even more.

But then the counter-attack came, and ISIS soon lost the game
Forced back in Syria it fled to Iraq, back the tide its remnants bore
And Drone Man in his Office mourned, as his pets fast lost ground
To those he’d vowed to oust, and defeat stared at him once more.
“What can I do now?” And he looked up at the door
Where something beeped, just once more.

The door he threw open, whereupon like fingers groping
Uncertain and placating, something drove out on to the floor.
Its armour was set in planes and angles, weapons hung on it like bangles
On the wrists of an aging hippie clinging on to the days of yore.
“Why, ‘tis a Humvee, like a million I’ve seen before
Just a Humvee, and nothing more.”

Into the Oval the Humvee lumbered, and Drone Man slowly clambered
Into its turret and sat, listening to the engine’s roar.
For a while nothing he uttered, not even a syllable he muttered
Wondering why it had come in through his White House door –
While the machine sat in the middle of the Office floor
Engine rumbling and horn beeping, out there on the Office floor.

In the turret he sat behind the gun, and thought of all the fun
He could have firing it at Assad’s face, and at Putin’s even more
When suddenly in a twinkling, from nowhere he had an inkling
Of an idea that came to him, seeping in through every pore,
Like a black flag flying over an armoured door
Like a Humvee with an ISIS flag flying above its armoured door.

The machine gun like a wasp’s avenging stinger, or even more a pointing finger
Pointed him in a new direction he ought to explore –
Set him to some head-scratching, and a new plot a-hatching
A plot that would bring victory in his grasp once more.
And he thought, “No wonder my plans all failed before
I never had such a good one as this before.”

“ISIS has men,” said he, “but weapons and mobility
Are things that it must have for its wings to soar
And you, my Humvee, have just shown me
How I can get them these in ways the world will ignore.
How many Humvees does ISIS need? Your advice I implore.”
Quoth the Humvee: “A hundred score.”

So Drone Man sat thinking, and presently he started blinking
As new ideas came where old ones had gone before.
“Not just mobility,” he thought sadly, “ISIS needs also badly
Armour and much more than included in my plot du jour.
Where I can find a mine full of inspiration’s mystic ore?”
Quoth the Humvee: “The Pentagon’s store!”

Drone Man said “Now my way I clearly see, the way I’ll make free
With regulations that tie me down, and send weapons once more.
Tanks, artillery, you name it, I know now how I’ll send it
In ways that ISIS will get them, and win through once more
To the victory I promised them, that to them I swore.”
Quoth the Humvee: “You won’t bore.”

Drone Man stroked the Humvee’s top, thought happily of the crop
Of headless bodies in numbers never seen heretofore –
“I’ll arm the Iraqi, the army that I know perfectly
Will cut and run and leave the weapons for ISIS, like they’ve done before.
How do you like my plan? Tell me, I implore.”
Quoth the Humvee: “J’adore!”

“Then when ISIS captures it all, and it seems Iraq will fall
I can send troops and planes and even more weapons than I’ve done before
To destroy the tanks and Humvees, that ISIS will take when the army flees
I’ll send missiles that ISIS can capture in turn, to arm its armoured corps.
Is’t all right so far, or should I seek a system restore?”
Quoth the Humvee: “I assure!”

“Though I sometimes wonder, if I’m making a blunder
In assuming things will go as simply as I’m planning for.
How many hours before the weapons fall to ISIS? A year or more?
I can’t wait if it takes ISIS to capture the weapons a year or more.
How many hours? I’m afraid you’ll say a year or more.”
Quoth the Humvee: “Twenty four!”

While I’ve been waiting for a while – at least four years – for some topic I could write a parody of Poe’s The Raven to, I scarcely expected that the Imperialist States of Amerikastan’s fairly transparent attempt to arm its ISIS proxies would provide the inspiration. Still, the muse strikes in unexpected ways – rather like one of Obama’s Hellfire missiles.

What inspired this parody was the news that ISIS captured a billion dollars’ worth of Humvees alone in Mosul (again alone), and more subsequently in Ramadi, and that isn’t including all the artillery and Abrams tanks and so on that Amerikastan sent to its famous New Iraqi Army. And the solution after ISIS captured all that? To send even more Humvees, tanks and artillery to this same New Iraqi Army. As well as missiles to destroy the Humvees and tanks it already sent. I wonder what it will send when (when, damn it, not if) ISIS captures those missiles.

Damn it, I wish someone would give me a Humvee. After all I’m not going to turn it into a car bomb or machine gun anyone from it, and I probably deserve it more than some jihadi with nothing in his skull but mangled and misinterpreted material from the Koran.

If I was the Caliph Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, I’d be composing a letter of effusive thanks to Obama right now.
