Although, in all fairness, he called most American television programs drek or "govno".

I can happily get by without television. In fact, I stopped watching it during the Balkan War when a particularly moronic CNN report tried to pass off a group of mourners crossing themselves in the Orthodox Christian way as "grieving MUSLIM women". I was so incensed I threw a mug of coffee at the screen and effectively ended the life of my television set. I simply refused to partake in any more of the fakery, lies and bias which passed for "news".

I've recently bought a home theatre after all these years... mainly to watch DVD's of my own choosing. I just don't have any real interest and in the states they stop the programming every 10 minutes to sir 20 minutes of adverts; and they repeat the same adverts until your mind is ready to explode. I don't know how people set into front of a television set on a regular basis.Kimberlyhttp://secretcorners.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7826101215822428783.post-24128845178984960022012-09-04T23:02:03.749+05:302012-09-04T23:02:03.749+05:30I agree that cable has killed most of the enjoymen...I agree that cable has killed most of the enjoyment of television. In fact, I wonder if it sometimes kills good tv shows, because they think nothing of booting them all over the schedule without warning, and distracting viewers from the plot with their frickin' little banners and moving ads on the screen DURING the scenes! They cut to commercials during pivotal plot moments and defuse all anticipation or excitement. I have a TV but no TV service and cannot get a single channel, and I don't care. I use it for watching DVDs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
