I never knew why (sounds like several things happened to cause that collapse). The Tigers alienating India certainly didn't help, but the alienation and the end were separated by a rather longish interval.

The rise and fall of the Daesh happened over an 8 year period, much shorter than the Tigers. The Daesh got its start in '09 (the background for that '09 start was, of course, in '03), when someone (who must remain nameless) ordered tens of thousands released from Camp Bucca (after 5 years of 'enhanced interrogation') if they'd swear an oath on the Nobel Koran to go to Syria and never return to Iraq. They swore, and were released with money and weapons, and from '09 until '14, they built up a force in Raqqa, then announced that their oaths to stay in Syria and never return to Iraq were meaningless: Syria and Iraq were faux creations by the infidels Sykes and Picot, so an oath to respect something that does not rightfully exist is non-binding.

The Daesh did not make the news until '14, when they overran Mosul, the US bombed them, and so they killed 3 Americans on YouTube, so more bombs, but no territorial losses until '16, after which the loss of all territory came quickly (but the Daesh might remain as a terrorist group without any territory, or the members might all join other groups, probably al-Qaeda).

MichaelWmeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7826101215822428783.post-30740782738382597272017-03-13T07:56:42.446+05:302017-03-13T07:56:42.446+05:30Bill,

Africa is a good (not in a really good way though) of said child troops. More than a few internal wars and cross border wars in Africa have seen the use of children as troops.
As an old poster from the 1960's said; "War is unhealthy for children and other living things".
You are correct, unfortunately, that ISIS will rise again. Yes, the name may be different, but the same leaders who are now fast going into hiding will be there hen the gang returns. As you said, with a new name and new flag. No doubt the same gang of international criminals will be funding the new ISIS no matter what the new name they will use. Damn imperialists!charlie ehlenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05584863034307604847noreply@blogger.com
